Living In New York City

I'm still traveling to New York City every week. I arrive on Monday mornings and leave on Thursday afternoons. I stay on the East side of Manhattan and my office is located next to the Chrysler building. I love that I can walk anywhere and I have a CVS pharmacy right outside my office.

This is the view from my office, I'm actually not looking at the Chrysler building but if turn around I can see it:

Up close view of the Chrysler building:

I have a little deli right outside my office, I can get a decent lunch with a bottle of water for $7 and they also have breakfast:

I'm only only two blocks away from Grand Central station, simply amazing:

I love this city but it is very very expensive. My hotel alone is $300 a night, added up weekly, that's almost what our mortgage is per month. I see so many people on the streets and bars, restaurants and coffee shops are always packed, I have to wonder how do they do it? How can people afford to live and play here?

That's all for now, stay tuned for another post about crazy expenses next week :) I seem to be charging everything while traveling and it's adding up fast.

  1. Beautiful buildings! Sounds like this was just what you needed to get you out of your rut. Looks fun!!!

I bet your wife and and little girl are happy to see you when you get home!

Hope you post more pics so we can travel with ya vicariously.
Have fun and safe travels, HS!

  2. You're charging everything while traveling? I'm shocked. Why do you pay for bottled water? I know you're not frugal, but it's not any different than tap water AND the bottles are filling up landfills. Water is usually free!
