If nothing crazy comes up and we don't have any emergencies, I should have this paid off the first week of February. If everything goes as planned then Best Buy will be paid off by March 15. That would leave the Citi Forward card with a balance but I plan to send our tax return to that account. That should put me at zero credit card debt by May or June at the latest.
Planning is easier said than done. I know stuff will come up. The baby will need something. The mother to be will need new clothes. Friends and family will have birthdays. Friends are also having babies and I will probably want to buy something I don't need. The plan to get as many gift cards as possible to offset some of these purchases. I already have a collection of gift cards to stores like Macy's and Kohl's. I also get mini rewards at work, usually $100 dollars that I can exchange for gift cards. The goal is to use up all these gift cards on things we need and not charge them to Citi.
I can do this, I will be out of credit card debt!

Congrats on it being under $1,000!
I think you're doing great with all of your little goals to reach the end goal of being credit card debt free. Way to go!

I strongly suggest second hand clothing stores for maternity wear, since you outgrow that stuff in about 5 mins. If you won't shop there, at least take your used stuff there when you are done with it, as maternity items are always wanted at stores that carry them.
U-RAH!!!
Yes! Got the U-RAH!!!

Great milestone!!! Congratulations and keep up the good work :)
I think you have a good plan and I KNOW you can do it! When things come up, just use cash instead of credit. Plan ahead for birthdays and definitely use those gift cards!
Please cut up the cards. You will feel so free. Even the store cards. Cut the cards and change your family tree. You are sooo ready for this step. It will ensure your success. Budget for gifts, maternity clothes, and register for baby items.

Have you ever heard of an emergency fund?
2FattiesOn4Wheels...
YES, there's always 1000 dollars in cash in the savings account for 'emergencies' the problem I have is defining an emergency, even the fridge going out was not enough to dip in to that fund.

Imagine how much you could save if you could kick this credit card habit! You wipe it out pretty quickly when you focus.
Nice!!! Good job! Almost completely out of debt! Then what will Mr. HS blog about? Lol
Seriously, you're doing really good. Stay focused. You can do it!
