Back on August 25th 2011 I posted about our Discover card balance being exactly $4,000 dollars:

I was proud of that moment and even said I would attack this card with 'gazelle' intensity but two months later I feel like I've made no progress. Below is the balance on the account as of this morning:
I've posted about interest before and that seems to be the culprit, over the last couple of months they've added close to $80 in finance charges. I'm not happy but we agreed to those terms every time we used the card. So this morning I'm setting a goal to have this card be at
$2000 by the end of this month. I'm not sure I can make this happen but I'm going to send them every extra dollar I can find. My next post on Discover will have a much lower balance and will provide screen shots.
Does it really 'Pay To Discover'? I don't think it does anymore LOL

That last line = win.
I am feeling the exact same way about my first credit card. The interest is just sabotaging me big time. Best of luck on getting to your goal!
Interest is a major bummer, but now it can be a little light under you to get after this card. You can do it!
YUP, We've paid close to $500 so far this year.. crazy!

Good luck! My husband surprised me by using a bonus we didn't know we were getting to pay off our Discover card completely.
You will get there

decrease is decrease!!!
That is so furstrating. I think you're approach of setting a goal to get the balance below $2000 is achievable (and therefore motivating) & still gazelle-like! :-)
