This is great! we are now well below $10,000 and the month is not over yet. I still have to make our HOA payment soon but hopefully I can send Discover another $400 and meet my goal to be under $2,000 on that card.
Check out this post from 2008, it shows what our credit card balance was on Citi: Looking Back 2006 The balance in 2006 was almost $15,000 dollars. The minimum payment was $331 and the finance charge alone was 182 dollars! Now you know the reason why I started this blog in 2007.

I sure have more debt than I did in 2007, but since then I have had an expensive surgery, bought a house with $25,000 down and $7,000 in closing costs, and paid off all debt. (before buying house.)
Now my debt is:
$116,000 mortgage
$127 owe son's dentist
$750 owe Mastercard
I hope to pay off dentist by end of year and Mastercard with 2011 tax refund (if not sooner.)
It's really good to see a debt blog that's written by a real person. Congratulations on paying off those credit cards and in getting that water bill reduced. :)
