Tour de Pink

This weekend I did the Tour de Pink. This is the first bike ride in Texas solely benefiting breast cancer. They have different rides and I chose to do 47 miles. I did the whole ride in a TREK mountain bike. Here is my picture during the ride, you can see me taking it with my phone and you can see my watch:

The start line, everyone wears pink:

I really enjoyed this ride and I will probably do it again next year. I do need a better bike, some people couldn't believe someone would take on 47 miles on a mountain bike but I did it. I figured 47 miles on a mountain bike is better than having cancer treatments. I did it in honor of all breast cancer survivors and those going through it right now.

Next year I plan on doing 63 miles. If anyone wants to join me or to learn more check out their site:

Great job! I know nothing about biking, so to me....a mountain bike is as good as any other bike. The point is you did it. Good for you!

Great job!!!!! I'm really impressed you rode it on a mountain bike. Wow!! That's amazing. I know a lot of bloggers who ride long distances on hybrids but a mountain bike....that's really great.

So sweet that you did it in honor of the cancer survivors and remembered those going through treatment. :)

Yeah. I want to do it next year. I think I need a different bike. And maybe, just maybe, I should train for it first. LOL

Great post. Love it.

Well a mountain bike is heavier and has bigger tires. What I needed was a road bike wich is a lot lighter and has bigger tires...

So what's in the future? More rides? Maybe some running?

Now you have me wanting to do a bike ride! :)

There's one in Galveston in October! Bike around the bay! It's 150 miles! 2 days!!! Check it out:

I would need a new bike for that...

I'm also hoping to do a half marathon at some point... I love to run!

150 miles?! Yikes. I'm sore just thinking about it.

Half marathon?! Really? You can do it!! That would be so cool. Go for it!

You don't NEED a new bike. You WANT a new bike. Until you learn to differentiate between the two, things are not going to get better, financially.

Plus you have a baby coming. Is a new bike really what you should be spending money on right now?

I agree, new bike is out the equation right now... a new bike will cost me $1200! money I don't have.

Awesome! My school is doing a breast cancer fundraiser next month. The winning class gets a pizza party, and I'm already brainstorming ways to make sure my class wins! Good for you!
