Is Netflix Worth It?

I got an email this morning from Netflix that our credit card on the account expired:

I must confess, I never use Netflix. I started Netflix back in 2005 and I really enjoyed checking the mail box and finding a movie but back in 2009 I switched to streaming only that's where I forgot about it. There's really no good content to watch. Last year I added my account to our parents TV and my brother so technically I'm paying Netflix streaming for other people. The one that will probably notice is my father in law, he really enjoys watching movies over and over so I'm waiting for his call.

The truth is I really don't want to keep paying $9 for something I don't use. At the same time, should I be kind and keep this on for my parent's and the wife's parents?

Anyone else dump Neflix lately?

I dumped when I got the email saying the price was going up. Have not missed it.

I was doing the streaming +1 in the mail and ended up dumping the +1 after they sent me email about the rate going up because the only room with a DVD player in my house is my bedroom and I never made time to watch the DVD's anyway.

If YOU don't use it then I say get rid of it. If your parents or in-laws want it, they can shell out the $8 a month. ($100 a year savings for you is nothing to scoff at!)

If your parent want it, let them pay for it.

I haven't used mine in months and cancelled it the other day. I don't have time for all the stuff on my DVR let alone Netflix.

We're switching to two discs at a time and dumping streaming, even though I do use streaming right now. We don't have cable, so the two discs will be nice for both of us to get things, including the shows I like buy miss out on because of the no cable thing. I agree, if they want it, let them pay for it.

We have the streaming right now (no cable or digital box so this is the only tv we get.) We love it because of no commercials and kids can pick shows they enjoy, but once price goes up next month I will be canceling.
If you don't use at all cancel.

I had Netflix and used it like crazy-- streaming content for kids is a wonderful option. Unfortunately, I didn't have the money to pay for internet much less Netflix so it all got cancelled in the beginning of the year. I really miss it though. One day...

Regarding your father in law, you might want to gift him a Netflix subscription for a birthday, Christmas, etc. You know he enjoys it and it's not too bad to do as a gift.

We had the streaming package, but never used it. The final push to disconnect was the informing us the prices were increasing. Haven't missed it. If the parents still want it, have them pay for it on their card.
