Moving Forward

Thanks to all my readers for your words of encouragement, our plan is to continue fighting the debt. Below is proof that we are on the right track, the Discover card is already down to 1,666:

We made a $1000 payment and we also sent Citi $400. We've had some unexpected home expenses this month and we had to dip in to our savings a bit. I'm not going to let things set me back, I'm going to continue and get all our credit cards paid off! The ultimate goal is to cut them up and stop using them.

Thanks again!

Scottrade Account Balance

Below is the latest balance in my Scottrade account. I sold some stock I had with Ford and withdrew $800 last week to send to our Citi credit card. The remaining balance below is all invested in Citibank (nyse:C), the stock is currently trading at 4.19. I'm hoping by this time next year the value goes up to 7 or 8. I will probably just leave it there and forget about it.

I should be getting a nice bonus at work in the next couple of months. It should be around $5,000 or so, I'm hoping to add all that money back in to my Scottrade account and get back in to the market. Last year we made over $700 in trading! Most of it was invested in Apple. This year I'm looking at more risky investments. I would like to start trading options, FOREX or futures.

Paying Off Debt Is Boring

Well it looks like this blog might have to come to an end... we can't seem to get out of debt and we can't seem to control our spending. Citi still has a balance around $4,000 and this weekend the Discover card which was $0 now has a balance over $2600!

I can go on and on about what happened, who charged what, impulse purchases etc. but you've heard it all before. We don't want to bore you anymore. We keep making excuses and we keep charging. Is it really worth having a debt blog when all we do is stay in debt? I think I might start a new spending blog, maybe link all my credit cards up to Blippy so you can see what we're buying and I don't have to explain things to the world.

So should we shut down this blog? Or do you enjoy seeing us drown in debt?
