Scottrade Account Balance

Below is the latest balance in my Scottrade account. I sold some stock I had with Ford and withdrew $800 last week to send to our Citi credit card. The remaining balance below is all invested in Citibank (nyse:C), the stock is currently trading at 4.19. I'm hoping by this time next year the value goes up to 7 or 8. I will probably just leave it there and forget about it.

I should be getting a nice bonus at work in the next couple of months. It should be around $5,000 or so, I'm hoping to add all that money back in to my Scottrade account and get back in to the market. Last year we made over $700 in trading! Most of it was invested in Apple. This year I'm looking at more risky investments. I would like to start trading options, FOREX or futures.

I have to learn more about this and start investing.
If I invest $0 at 7% rate for 30 years will it be more than $0. LOL.

I have a question. You mentioned you have debt, and yet you're investing. Why? I apologize in advance, I'm not familiar with your blog yet. But my understanding is debt first, investments second. And since you mentioned Ramsey, I'm sort of surprised to see you're investing while repaying debt.
