I'm starting a new section called Our Bills. For the next month or so, I will post about all the bills that we have, so others can compare and make suggestions. I will try to post as many details as possible. The goal in the end is to use all that information and start working on a budget. I will include things like cell phone bill, electricity and mortgage.

This could be very interesting but some of it is very dependent on your area. My water and electric bills are very different from my cousin's just based on our locations. Also, my water includes trash pickup and some other city functions -- while other areas don't.
So some breakdown on what is being charged for and what you're actually using would help.
I like to look at the gallons of water I use each month. A couple hundred gallons might only mean a difference of a few dollars on the bill itself because the fixed costs are so high relative to the usage costs.
I think this bill idea is good.I love to see other's bills and budgets. Crown Financial Ministries has some good templates for budgets.
i don't think a gas stove will increase your bill that much. we, also here in houston, have gas dryer, gas hot water heater, gas heat for winter, and gas stove, and our bill for last month was just about what yours was. we do a lot of clothes drying, and my husband takes super long showers, so we have that, and we do use the stove most days.
