Quick update for the week. I am heading to a Christian camp tomorrow morning with our client. They are taking close to 300 people camping to reflect where our project is going. Tensions are high, they've spent close to a billion dollars so far, and we don't have any solid results. Personally I think this project will fail. The good news is that all meals will be provided by the client and they will also pay for gas. hopefully I won't have to spend any money this week. I bought the wife some groceries to make it through the week.
The spending is getting better, I was a little frustrated and had to vent, life can be a little stressful at times. The Citi Forward balance still around $4,000. I'm slowly paying it back, my goal right now is to save cash. Our cash savings are close to $15,000! Something is telling me to save money.
All other credit cards still have a $0 balance, including Discover! The wife might have a small balance on her Macy's, probably around $50. As soon as I get the bill I will pay that off.
No other updates for now, hope everyone is having a good week.

$15000.00 in savings is great. I would probably pay off the $4,000.00 and be done with it...
Have a great week. Maybe you can have your wife declare a no spending week as well.
That is great you have so much saved. The future is so uncertain with jobs and such.
I am hesitant to buy a house (my grandmother's and she will hold the mortgage.) Because I will be putting $30,000 down (so she can pay off all her debt.) After lawyer fees and such I will only have a very small (about $2,000) emergency fund and that makes me very nervous. Especially since I am a single mom who only works part time (even on my part time income I can pay house bills, but still if I have an emergency with my car or health that money will be gone asap.)
I just keep praying for His will in it all. I hope you do too.
Thanks for sharing your story and your struggle.
Your savings is awesome! You know, I just read your previous post about keep spending money and not knowing why you have this blog sometimes.
I think sometimes we have moments where we get a little tired of living frugally. Where we just want to spend how we want like "everybody else."
But even in our spending we may find that we place limits. Even in our spendthrift times we find frugality.
Today I ate out yet again, even though we should really save the money. But at least I ate at Burger King!
Sharon! Hi!
Yes I could pay this off but last time I took money from savings I found myself in debt again! so the plan now is to save and forget about it LOL, I think I will start paying it off in January.
