I talked to my supervisor this morning and he gave me the news. Total salary increase amount for 2009 to 2010 is $0.00. My performance was good and I met all my objectives but since the economy is in a recession, they don't have to give me a raise. He said I should be lucky I have a job and to just ride it out until next year. I wonder if that means next September I get a double raise.
On a positive note, our health insurance premiums will not increase this year and our 401k match will remain the same, 6% dollar per dollar. We also get 5 weeks of paid vacation per year and my client will continue to pay for transportation to their site ($145 per month).
The wife will probably get $1200 pay increase and an additional $800 that was approved by the Texas legislature for all teachers.
Did you get a pay increase this year?

Yes, I did get a pay increase. Being in the military has it's perks!
Just hit 6 years of service!
After losing my job I was lucky enough to find a new one right away in April that paid more AND I should soon be getting a cost of living adjustment (not exactly a raise but I'll take it). Then again I work for the government.
I am self employed, so no not really. Glad at least your wife is getting a raise.
I got a raise in March, and that will probably be it for awhile. Hubby is federal gov't, so the "raises" work differently. He got a small raise this month (less than $1k for the year), but this is the first one in 3 yrs, and it will be another 3 yrs before we see another one.
My husband was supposed to get a raise a year ago. It has never come. Many of the employees took pay cuts, so no one would get laid off. His raise was not to get a pay cut. The boss says when the store does better, my husbands pay will get better. I hope that happens soon! I should just be thankful my husband has a job, in fact he is working two jobs. We can pay the bills and I know many are not that blessed.
My raises come in Jan/Feb and yes I got a small one this year. Who knows whether I'll get one next year but I would guess probably yes, a small one. My mom's boss had promised her a 10% raise and only gave her 3%, at least she has a job. You get some nice perks, 5 weeks vacation isn't bad.
Sadly, this is a year of no raise for me too. I work for Tennessee and we didn't even get cost of living, much less performance based. *sigh* At least I have job stability I guess.
I actually just switched jobs, from 40 hours per week to 25. So while my hourly wage went up substantially, it balanced out to roughly the same take home pay. So same pay for less hours, always have 4 day weekends, and I don't hate my boss, so yeah, I guess it's not a financial raise, but it's a real morale boost!
Sorry to hear you didn't get a raise HS, you must be disappointed. I don't blame you - sure it's nice to have the job in a rough economy, but a raise always helps the bottom line.
Keep working hard and make sure they notice, so when cash starts flowing again you're the first one they think of.

We get nothing! No raise, no bonus no overtime. Oh, we still work the overtime but we have to take some other time off. It never works out that way though so we just work more and not get paid for it. Some of us, including me, have been forced to handle jobs of other individuals who have left and will not be replaced. So now I have the job that THREE people used to do. And just like you, we were told to be happy to have jobs.
