Welcome Back

Hi, I’m back, I took a two month break from my blog and managed to add more debt. Something happened, I felt like my life needed a change so we managed to add more debt to the household. So here I am, I’m back to tell this blog about my debts. I removed most of the previous posts that had nothing to do with debt and instead I plant to focus on my debt and provide updates about repayment.

CITI was doing great until I decided that my living room needed new furniture and a brand new HDTV along with a surround system. I have no idea what got in to my head and how my wife approved but here is a breakdown of my new accounts:

CITI: $10,983
CITI Professional: $1,758 (don’t ask).
BEST BUY: $1,706.59
ROOMSTORE Furniture: $549.59

So, please join me once again as I attempt to pay off all this debt. The goal to be credit card debt free is November 2008.

WOW- good luck to you! Credit cards are nasty little devils, lucky for me- my Dad warned me enough about them when I was a teenager so I never did use them frequently.

I don't understand why you won't do a budget? I've been where you are and can't imagine ever going back there. Budgets are great. You can keep trying to wander your way out of this debt. Or you can get focused, do a budget, and kick this debt to the curb. I guarantee you that you will do it a whole lot faster on a budget.

Good luck either way.

I hate to say this, but reading about your debt makes me feel better about MINE. I'm gonna tell my husband to read your blog, so he will stop thinking that we are the only ones alive with debt that we are still adding too......
:-)
Thanks!!!! Keep up the good work!!

When you get the urge to buy something you really shouldn't buy, do what I do. I don't have credit card debt but I do have school debt, and every time I think about buying something I don't need, I consider whether I would still want it if it cost at least double (triple? quadruple?) what I would pay for it. Because that's what it will cost you if you tack on the interest.
We are entering economic times in which you cannot afford to fool around. Pay off debt and build up a cushion for when you are laid off or you struggle to make home payments.

I paid off all of our consumer debt in February and now want new furniture, landscaping, etc. I will not purchase unless I have cash... blogging helps put what you should do back into focus..at least for me. I hope it works for you too!

November eh? That seems like a lot of debt in such a small space of time. If you can do it, all credit to you! I am trying to pay off debt too - any tips you can share?

Good luck!

My advice is to take out the furniture debt first! The snowball method. It won't take you long to clear that debt & it will give you a huge boost mentally.

Good luck with your goal!
